Herschend’s roots date back to 1950 when the Herschend family founded their first attraction, a small cave tour in Branson, Mo., which later expanded into the famed Silver Dollar City. The company’s 70 years of success is a credit to the deep-rooted culture of “Love in Action,” built on the Herschend family values of kindness and caring.
Since 2004, Share It Forward has been an important source of support for Herschend employees and their families through difficult situations. The program was born from a heritage of employees caring for each other and seeking to live out Christian values.
“For years the men and women of Herschend helped one another out during times of crisis,” shares Anne E. Herschend-McGregor. “Share It Forward was a formal way of carrying on that same spirit of loving support.”
Since its launch, the Herschend family has donated over 12 million dollars to Share It Forward to support Herschend employees. Alongside the family’s donation, Herschend is committed to matching every donation an employee makes to Share It Forward.
Share It Forward is a tangible expression of Herschend’s culture inviting employees to lead with love and support their co-workers through difficult times. We count on employee donations and fundraisers, matched by the company, to pay for our assistance programs.
We confidentially assist Herschend employees through hardships and help create a path to financial security through education. All Herschend employees can participate in Share It Forward by donating or allowing us to support them through a difficult time.
We strive to continuously grow both pledges of support and requests for assistance to help us realize the Herschend value of caring for each other.
